The Dutch government pursues an active environmental policy. The aim is to reduce packaging which damage the environment. To reach this and to make people more conscious to choose for packaging less damaging for the environment, one has to pay in the Netherlands Verpakkingenbelasting (tax on packaging) since January 1st 2008.
The tax has been counted when packaging are being sold and filled. Empty tin can packaging are not being charged. For secondary packaging like pallets, carton and plastic which are used to pack our deliveries, we pay the tax.
The Verpakkingenbelasting offers the opportunity to discover the advantages of our tinplate packaging. Tinplate has one of the highest recycling percentages: ±80%. Also the cost for separate collection are limited because of the magnetic features of tinplate. When you choose for tinplate you contribute positively to the environment!
